After winning their first formal homebrewing contest in 2012 and hiring their first full-time brewmaster in 2014, they converted a vacant Rock Hill car dealership in 2015 into an 11,000-square-foot craft brewery and brewpub. Untamed Waters Brewing

Uwharrie Brewing is Albemarle's first brewery and Stanly County's pioneering craft beer establishment, housed in the beautifully restored Historic Station 1 Firehouse. Owner and Head Brewer Colton Baker opened the brewery in 2021 after the City of Albemarle entrusted him with the historic firehouse through an incentive agreement. Colton brings over a decade of brewing expertise, starting as a homebrewer and beertender during his college years at the University of Mississippi where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business. His professional career includes launching a small craft brewery in Brevard and serving as Head Brewer and Production Manager for a multi-million-dollar operation in Waynesville. At Uwharrie Brewing, the focus is on blending traditional brewing methods with modern equipment and high-quality ingredients sourced from regions that inspire each beer style, paired with Albemarle's award-winning fresh water. The spacious firehouse setting features both indoor and outdoor seating, cornhole, board games, and hosts events like trivia nights and community running club.

Uwharrie Brewing

Vaulted Oak Brewing opened June 9, 2021, in a beautifully refurbished BB&T Bank building in East Charlotte. Conveniently located near Oakhurst, Echo Hills, Elizabeth, and Cotswold neighborhoods, it has rapidly become a favorite neighborhood establishment. The brewery is especially popular with families and dog-friendly neighbors, featuring 10-12 house-made beers on tap alongside local seltzer, cider, prosecco, an extensive wine list, and non-alcoholic options. With no on-site restaurant, they host a great rotation of food trucks Wednesday through Sunday, with Sal's Pizza conveniently located right across the street. The spacious interior features board games, both indoor and outdoor seating, and a laid-back atmosphere perfect for the community to gather.

Vaulted Oak Brewing

Wooden Robot is a 15-barrel urban farmhouse brewery that draws inspiration from traditional Belgian farmhouse breweries and the innovative spirit of American craft brewing. Since opening, they've become one of Charlotte's most acclaimed breweries, producing a wide range of juicy IPAs, funky farmhouse ales, wood-aged sour beers, and crisp lagers. Their South End flagship location features the main brewery, taproom, and Wooden Robot Coffee Bar (open mornings with specialty coffee). The Chamber in NoDa offers a second taproom with rooftop biergarten. Both locations provide rotating beer selections that can be enjoyed in taprooms, on patios, or at the rooftop. Known for blending disparate elements of art and science, Wooden Robot creates unique beers embodying a wonderful union of tradition and innovation.
